Goodland dentist is the first childs dentist in the country to be named a PGA Tour winner
A father of five children who lives in the same town as the Goodland Golf Club and Deer Creek Country Club has been named the first-ever PGA tour winner for the event.
Nicky Liew’s father, Tom, and mother, Judy, were all dentists at the same family dental school.
Liew’s daughter, Jodi, is now an assistant pediatric dentist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
“It was a really nice surprise,” Liew said.
“It’s a great honor.
Nicky and her mom are amazing, they were amazing.
I think they have so much passion for their kids.”
The family’s name recognition is thanks to Nicky Lietw’s mother Judy, who started the dental school program in 1957, and Judy’s brother and wife.
Judy’s son, Nick, is a student at Penn State University.
Lietw and her husband, Bob, started the program in 1987.
“Nicky and Bob’s dad started this school in 1957 and their first student was a boy named Nick,” Lietws father, Nick Liew, said.
“They started out doing the kids teeth, but now they are a family dental practice, and they’ve become a dentistry school in Pennsylvania.”
The Lietweys started the school when they moved to the United States from Poland in 1971.
They became U.S. citizens in 1982, and Bob Liew and Judy Liew started a dental practice in the Pittsburgh area in 1988.
“We had no idea this was going to be so big, but we really got into it because we really wanted to give our kids the best education possible,” Judy Lietew said.
Bob Liew has been a dentist since the early 1970s.
“When we first started the practice, we had the idea of treating children with dentures.
They’re all young, they’ve been abused, they have a lot of dental problems,” Judy said.
But Judy Liof said Nicky, her daughter and other children, are different.
“She’s a very sweet little girl, but she has a really hard time,” Judy added.
“She’s very stubborn and doesn’t like to be messed with.
The children’s dental school is named for Judy’s husband Bob, who worked in the industry from the 1940s until he retired. “
We’re really happy that she’s got this name.”

“They were the first family that started to work with children,” Judy, Judy Lieniew, Bob Lietiew and their daughter, Nicki, said in a statement.
“I am very proud of the name, and it’s so important to our community that we continue to grow the dental profession,” Judy continued.
