How does your child’s tooth decay affect your health?
Sleep dentistry may seem like a luxury service.
But for many families, dental hygiene is a critical part of life.
In fact, sleep dentists in Bellevue are offering their services for free, but only for parents with children under the age of 18.
Parents of children under 18 may have to pay a $30 annual fee.
The Bellevue pediatric dental department also offers a free online dental consultation, a free dental exam and a free appointment for kids with sleep apnea.
The dental services are offered at Bellevue Children’s and Community Dental.
It’s an option the parents of the preschoolers, ages 3 to 12, say they’ve always wanted, but they weren’t sure how they could afford it.
Dr. Chris Evers, the department’s pediatrician, said parents who live in Bellevues or other nearby communities that are home to Bellevue’s high school students are getting more options from their dental clinics.
He said that parents are often looking for dental care at a cheaper rate than the average dental clinic, and that dental services may be provided for free if the children aren’t eligible.
Dr. Evers said Bellevue children who have a sleep apneas or other medical condition, and whose parents live outside of Bellevue, are getting a lot of dental care.
He said children’s dental services in BellevUE typically start at $5 per visit.
He also said the Bellevue department’s dental clinic is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The Bellevue Kids’ dental clinic offers a complimentary free consultation to children and their families, a complimentary online dental exam, a dental exam for kids and their parents, and a complimentary appointment for adults.
It also offers appointments for adults at no cost.
The free online appointment is for adults ages 18 and older.
The appointment fee is $30, but if the family’s income is less than $150, the parents can choose to pay for the consultation or get the appointment online for $40.
The pediatric dental clinic in Bellevuing has an online dental appointment for parents, but it’s only available to adults, and the pediatric dental exam can only be done in person, not by phone.
The dental clinic also offers free oral exams for children.
The kids’ dental care isn’t the only benefit.
Dr Evers noted that a child with sleep dentias can use a mask to help reduce the risk of developing cavities and gum disease.
He added that if the child has a dental condition or medical condition that causes the child to need an office visit, the pediatric dentist can provide a free dentist appointment.
The preschooler in Bellevued said she loves to be a part of the Bellevues’ dental program, and said that it’s so convenient to have dental care that she’s excited about the program.
She said she hopes to continue participating in the dental program and even get a free visit from Dr. Eves, who is also a pediatrician at Bellevues Children’s Hospital.
